In India, mostly women choose the profession of Nursing but men can be a caregiver as well.

Scope in Nursing
As India is a populated Country, the nurses never remain unemployed. They easily get a job in health care organizations and hospitals. This is the field where you may get the government job easily. Now the government and private hospitals are spreading across the country. With the growing numbers of health care centers, there is a requirement for sufficient numbers of nurses. Every year more than 40000 nurses have been hired in India.
It’s not like you only have to take care of the patient. Nurses would have to dispense medication, keep complete records of each patient’s progress, set up, and operate medical equipment along with administration and routine duties. Part of a nursing job as a nurse would include health education to individuals, families, and other groups. Also, you would need to instruct on nutrition, child care as well as disease prevention. Nursing is multi-faceted. You can become an educator, researcher, or practitioner. In each, you have another set of choices available like geriatrics, women, children, and accident survivor care.
Eligibility for Nursing
A willing student has various options for their pursue their profession in Nursing. There are Diploma, Graduation, or Post Graduation in Nursing. One can also go for Midwife courses.
Diploma Courses:
› ANM (Auxiliary Nursing & Midwife)
› GNM (General Nursing & Midwife)
Under Graduate Courses:
Bachelor Programme: 12th pass candidates with Physica Math, Biology are eligible for the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. The duration of the courses is typically for 04 years. In this degree, courses candidates will get theory as well the Practical aspect of Nursing.

» B.Sc (Distance): 03 years
Auxiliary Programme: ANM or Auxiliary Nursing & Midwife course is a training course for the health worker. This course related to people living in rural areas mainly focus on Children, Mother, and Old People. The Eligibility Criteria for the ANM course is class 10th and the duration is for 18 months.
Willing candidates can study further in Nursing i.e M.Sc (2 years), M.Phil, or even P.hD. Doing post basic specialty diploma courses is more common along with continuing programs. Nursing specialties working in intensive care units are required to takes extra courses after the basic training and a few years of work experience.
